Het Vreemd: Dutch Underground Synth & Wave 1982-1987
V/A Compilation Album
Het Vreemd is a compilation and archival project exploring forgotten Dutch-language underground synth and wave music from 1982–1987. It began with a box of old band photos and DIY cassettes belonging to my mother, which sparked a search for the artists and stories behind this largely overlooked scene.
The project brings together ten tracks by obscure Dutch artists, alongside archival photographs, personal stories and a zine documenting the research. By bringing this music back into circulation, Het Vreemd celebrates the experimental, DIY spirit of the 1980s and explores its surprising resonance with the present.
Released on World of Paint.
